Salto host 4 Way Men’s International Event 26th November 2016

City of Lisburn Salto Gymnastics Centre were proud to host a junior boys 4-way international gymnastics competition at the weekend with countries represented by GB, France, Germany and Switzerland. We were delighted when British Gymnastics agreed to allow us to host this prestigious event during the year in which we celebrate our tenth anniversary of our premises opening in Lisburn. The boys put on a fantastic showcase of gymnastics and clearly demonstrated their ability to become future Olympians.

We would like to thank those who made a significant contribution towards the running of the event – Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council, British Gymnastics, Patiomaster, Tayto and Lidl.

Special Mention to all members of staff, volunteers, judges, parents and gymnasts who helped out at the event. Your help and support is greatly appreciated.

Salto Coaches Attend Level 3 Theory Course in UUJ

12661988_1218698721477851_6580538950223308807_n

Our six level 2 coaches were very busy this weekend (6th – 7th Feb 2016), as they attended a level 3 theory module. The course was taken by BG workforce tutors Neil Burton, Anne Marie Barr and Terri Fisher in the University of Ulster, Jordanstown Campus. Conor, Chloe, Kirsty, Emma, Pearce and Kelly are a mix of Men’s and Women’s Artistic coaches who the club have encouraged to progress on to the next stage of the coach education ladder. The group now have a portfolio to complete and practical modules to get signed off by NI Technical experts before becoming fully qualified level 3 coaches in their disciplines. Good luck guys!
